Budgeting and managing your finances can feel overwhelming, so The Greater Jackson Financial Empowerment Center (GJFEC) and the Dyersburg American Job Center are partnering to offer a free workshop entitled, “Mastering Your Money: Take Control of Your Financial Journey!” The workshop will be held on Jan. 27, 2026, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the American Job Center-Dyersburg, 313 West Cedar St., and is open to the public at no cost.
“Mastering Your Money” will address three common financial challenges: setting financial goals, creating a budget, and tackling debt. The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to take control of their finances—whether they are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling with debt, or simply want to build better money habits.
“Our goal is for everyone to leave with a clear, actionable budget and the confidence to make informed financial decisions that will move them closer to their goals,” said Jordan Howerton, Regional Director for the Greater Jackson Financial Empowerment Center. "We encourage participants to bring a notebook, calculator or smartphone, and if possible, a general idea of their monthly income and expenses. But most importantly, come with an open mind and readiness to learn."
Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required.
