Christmas Light Pole Contest

Description

Once a light pole is adopted, it is no longer available. Locations are provided on the map below, indicating where each light pole is. If possible, please start with the poles on Main Street first.

Open to individuals, families, business, organizations, churches, schools, teams, or clubs to help everyone get in the holiday spirit! Light Poles are first come, first served. Poles between Central and 12th Avenue on Main and the first block of North and South 14th off of Main are included. You’ll find them numbered on the map. Choose your pole and wait on confirmation from the Chamber before decorating.

Decorating: Thursday, November 21 - Thursday, December 12th

• Decorations must have a holiday or winter theme and MUST be appropriate for the public/family friendly.
• Use ONLY zip ties or string to secure your decorations to the pole. Absolutely no tape, nails, tacks or anything that will damage the pole.
• Decorations must be able to withstand weather outside, so please make sure everything is durable.
• If your decorations fall apart or are damaged the individual/adopter will be responsible for fixing and maintaining the light pole throughout the contest. You’re also responsible for cleaning up if the decorations fall.
• Decorations should not extend beyond 2 feet from the light pole so as not to impede sidewalk traffic and must NOT obstruct parking spaces.
• Electricity will NOT be available. Do not tamper, unplug or otherwise alter the city light pole electrical components or attempt to run cords to poles.

Winners will receive:

1st Place - $100 in Chamber Bucks

2nd Place - $50 in Chamber Bucks

3rd Place - $20 in Chamber Bucks

Judges will make a decision after December 13th.

Winners will be notified by December 19.

Decorations need to be taken down by Sunday, January 8th.
